Glimpse of Central, Bhutan

Places of Visit – Paro & Bumthang

Distance from Paro to Thimphu – 55 Km (one & half hours)

Day One: Arrive at Paro International Airport and after completing the formalities at the airport Immigration, you are required to exit the airport.  At the arrival gate, our representative will be there to receive you with the placard.  You will be escorted to the car and our representative will give you the brief introduction of the tour so that you will be fully aware of your stay in Bhutan.   Our representative will take you to hotel and after having light refreshment,  you will proceed  to Ta Dzong  also known as Watch Tower, now it is converted to National Museum and has antique religious paintings, textiles, armor and weapons and you can also witness the wide range of natural and historic artifacts. After the visit to Ta Dzong, you can walk down to Rinpung Dzong and enjoy the cool breeze as Dzong in located above the Pa Chhu River. Other meaning for Rinpung is “fortress of the heal of Jewels” and has its own history. As you walk along the courtyard of the Dzong, you can also enjoy and understand the illustration of religious painting and Buddhist beliefs etc.  Drive back to Paro town to have lunch.

After lunch, drive to to Kichu Lhakhang. It is one of the oldest Lhakhang in Bhutan built in the 7th Century built by Tibetan King Songtsen Gempo and  visit to local market at Paro which is located in the town followed by visit to Drugyel Dzong which is under construction at the moment. The Drugyal Dzong plays significant role in Bhutan History because our Bhutanese warriors fought Tibetan invaders and we were victorious. Our representative will take you to Taktsang Base, where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Taktsang Monastery. Taktsang Monastery is known for uniqueness in term if its landscape and architecture.  Then you our trip for the day ends and you will be taken back to hotel ,have dinner in one of the best hotel in Paro town and our representative you take to back to hotel for overnight stay so that you can prepare for tomorrow’s trip to Bumthang.

Day Two: Drive to Paro International Airport for onward departure to Bumthang, 45 mins journey by flight.  Arrive at Domestic Airport Bumthang and drive to hotel, 15 mins journey to hotel.  Bumthang is one of the most beautiful place in Bhutan and Bumthang district has four main valleys namely; Ura, Chumey, Tang and Choekhor and has broad and gentle carved by the ancient glaciers. Owing to the scenic valleys and ancient structures, mountains, Lhakhang’s, ancient monasteries, a large numbers of tourist visit Bumthang annually.  Bumthang is one of the most gifted district in terms of religious history and spiritual legacy.  After completing the hotel formalities and lunch , our representative you drive to Ura valley scenic beauty followed by visit to nearby ancient monasteries  and Lhakhangs such as  Tamshing Lhakhang , Kurje Lhakhang, Jakar Dzong, Jambay Lhakhang, Kench Sum Lhakhang and drive back to hotel and overnight at Bumthang.

Day Three: After the breakfast, check out from hotel, make a quick visit to Yathra weaving center and handicraft shops around Bumthang and drive to Bumthang Domestic Airport for onward journey to Paro.   Arrive Paro around 2 PM. Drive to hotel at Paro.  After lunch, sightseeing at Paro Town and drive to Chele La (Around 13,000ft) 1hour 15 mins drive from Paro. You can enjoy the bird view of Haa valley and Jomolhari peak from Chele La.

Drive back to hotel and overnight at Paro.

Day Four: Depart to Paro International Airport for onward destination.

Places of Visit – Paro  & Taktshang Monastery

Taktsang Monastery is known for uniqueness in term of its landscape and Architecture.

Day One: Arrive at Paro International Airport and after completing the formalities at the airport Immigration, you are required to exit the airport.  At the arrival gate, our representative will be there to receive you with the placard.  You will be escorted to the car and our representative will give you the brief introduction of the tour so that you will be fully aware of your stay in Bhutan.

Drive to hotel and complete the check in formalities. After refreshment at hotel, you will visit to Kichu Lhakhang. It is one of the oldest monastery in Bhutan built in the 7th Century. This Lhakhang is built by Tibetan King Songtsen Gempo and followed by visit Ta Dzong and Ringpung Dzong. Day Two: The hike takes hardly 3 hours even if you walk gradually. As you climb through the pine wood forest, you will enjoy the fresh and cool breeze.  The route is easy to walk and not so steep.  On the way, you will come across horses and locals and religious prayers flags hoisted in the forest.  After walking for an hour you will rest for refreshments and continues the hike.  As you reach at Taktsang cafeteria, only cafeteria in that locality, you can witness the magnificent view of Taktsang Monastery hanging on the mountain cliff.  Once you arrive at Taksang Monastery, our representative will guide you to monastery. After the visit, hike is downhill and have lunch at Taktsang cafeteria and continue the journey. After arriving at Taktsang base, you will drive back to hotel and rest for a while and visit the nearby temples and Paro town. Dinner at Paro Town and halt at Paro.
